Radioactive dating quiz
Radiocarbon or Carbon-14 dating is a technique used by scientist to date bones, wood, paper and cloth. It is produced in the Earth’s upper atmosphere when Nitrogen-14 is broken down to form the unstable Carbon-14 by the action of cosmic rays. The unstable Carbon-14 is transported down to the lower atmosphere by atmospheric activity such as storms.Scientists know the half-life of C-14 (5,730 years), so they can figure out how long ago the organism died.Carbon-14 dating can only be used to determine the age of something that was once alive.Plants absorb C-14 during photosynthesis, so C-14 is incorporated into the cellular structure of plants.
Since all living organisms on Earth are made up of organic molecules that contain Carbon atoms derived from the atmosphere, they therefore contain Carbon-14 atoms.
Prior to discussing next year’s educational seminar, I wanted to take one last look back to provide a special and heartfelt thank you to all those who worked the Western States Joint Conference.
Everyone helped to make it such a success, and an event that people want to attend again.
Half of the remaining Carbon-14 then decays over the next 5730 years leaving one fourth of the original amount.
By measuring the ratio of Carbon-14 in a sample and comparing it to the amount in a recently deceased sample its date can be determined.

The host came by and made sure to tell everyone about my blog …
I am not sure why people go through the trouble of signing up and filling all those questionnaires and then post a profile that looks like a copy of any other neutral, boring, profile full of cliches and types.
The only thing that makes sense for the Hawks now is to move Anthony on to some other team in another trade or to cut him outright and send him into free agency because the Hawks are trying to rebuild their team and they need Carmelo Anthony about as much as I need to listen to Mark Emmert read a prepared statement on the “student-athlete”.
